Expats couldn't find reliable, comprehensive information in one place. They'd spend weeks searching across dozens of outdated blog posts, getting conflicting answers from Reddit threads, and making expensive mistakes because they didn't understand the local tax system, visa requirements, or banking landscape. Information that should take 5 minutes to find was scattered across 20 different websites — most of them written by people who had never actually lived in the countries they were writing about.

We built the resource we wished existed when we first moved abroad, and the resource we wish our clients had before they came to us with problems that could have been prevented.

We operate Profi Expats, a CNB-certified (Czech National Bank) independent financial advisory firm based in Prague. Since 2017, we've helped hundreds of expats across the Czech Republic and Europe with:

ExpatTools is completely free to use — no accounts, no paywalls, no email gates. We earn revenue through two channels:

• Display advertising — standard ads served through Google AdSense. We keep ad density low to maintain a good user experience.
• Affiliate partnerships — we earn commissions when users sign up for services through our links. We partner exclusively with services we genuinely recommend to our own paying advisory clients:
  • Wise — for international money transfers (we've recommended Wise to every client since 2019)
  • SafetyWing — for digital nomad and travel insurance

Our commitment: We will never recommend a product or service solely because it pays a higher commission. Every recommendation on this site is something we would suggest to a paying advisory client sitting across the table from us.
