Privacy and choices

Calculator values are processed in your browser and are not sent to ExpatTools or a supplier. If you choose a carry-to-next-tool button, the browser temporarily stores the displayed budget figures in this tab’s session storage to pass them to the next worksheet. The receiving worksheet removes a valid handoff record after accepting it. If you do not continue, it remains within the tab’s session until that session ends; browser session restoration can preserve it. No budget is automatically stored for a later visit.

If you copy a quote-request brief, it goes to your device’s clipboard. Download buttons create text, CSV or editable JSON files on your device. Reopening a cash-flow or housing-comparison JSON file reads it locally in your browser, without uploading it. Optional evidence notes stay in the current worksheet and are included in its text download; they are not included in cross-tool handoffs. If you choose to keep a cash-flow result as a baseline, the baseline remains only in page memory, not browser storage or the editable JSON file. Reloading normally clears it; browser back/forward restoration may preserve page memory. An explicit comparison download contains both calendars and their labels, amounts and dates. ExpatTools does not receive these files or their entries. A downloaded file remains on your device until you delete it; closing the page does not delete that file. Fonts are served from this website; the pages do not fetch Google Fonts.

The site is hosted by Netlify. Serving a page necessarily processes network information such as IP address, requested address, date/time and browser information. Hosting and security processing relies on the publisher’s legitimate interest in providing and protecting the website. We do not deliberately collect sensitive data through the calculators.

There is currently no Google Analytics tag or separate analytics account collecting visitor activity on this site. Search Console reports aggregate search performance.

If you submit the form, Netlify processes your name, email, optional page address and message, and the publisher receives the submission. The publisher can access submissions in Netlify. If email notifications are enabled, the publisher’s email provider also processes the notification. We use this information to answer the request and manage follow-up, based on legitimate interests; steps requested for a potential contract may instead be necessary for that contract. It is not added to a newsletter.

Please do not submit identity documents, financial account details or health information. We retain enquiries only while needed for the request, follow-up and applicable record-keeping obligations. Ask us to delete information that is no longer needed.

Advertising through Google AdSense is subject to Google site approval. Google is not loaded on an ordinary visit before you allow its optional privacy service. Every tool and guide remains available if you continue without Google.

If you choose “Allow Google and open choices”, the site loads Google’s advertising script with ad requests paused. Google receives your IP address and browser information and may read existing Google cookies. Your permission to load the service is separate from permission to show ads. Google’s certified consent message explains its partners, purposes and legal bases and provides refusal and granular choices. Advertising requests remain paused unless that message returns the required valid consent result. If the service or consent result is unavailable, ads stay off.

For advertising preferences, ExpatTools stores your choice to allow or refuse this service in session storage in the current tab. This records a privacy preference and does not identify you or measure your visits. Google manages its own consent record. Open Advertising privacy choices to manage your preferences on the budgeting guide. To withdraw permission to load Google, choose “Continue without Google”. If Google has already loaded, the page reloads without it, so save any current worksheet results first. Allowing the service again requires a fresh choice in Google’s message. Links marked Affiliate lead through a referral service to the supplier. Clicking can disclose your IP address, browser and referral information to that service and destination. Their own policies and consent controls apply after you leave ExpatTools. The Wise referral network is operated through Partnerize. See Partnerize’s privacy statement and Wise’s privacy policy.

External official-source links take you to independent websites. We do not control their processing.

Netlify and Google may process information outside the EEA. Their published terms describe applicable transfer safeguards and processing arrangements: Netlify privacy policy, Netlify data processing addendum and Google privacy policy.

Depending on the circumstances, GDPR gives rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may complain to your data-protection authority, including the Czech Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů. Contact us with enough information to locate your request; we do not need unnecessary identity documents.
